Here’s our 12-step paver installation process:

1) Planning

We start by reviewing your ideas, goals, and project details. This helps us plan the right equipment, materials, and timeline.
          Reminder: Call Sunshine 811 at least 48 hours before digging—Florida law requires marking underground utilities for safety.

2) Layout & Excavation

We clear the area of furniture, landscaping, or old materials. Then we level, mark the layout, and excavate as needed, ensuring proper drainage and a compacted sub-base.   Depth based on use (typically 6–12")

3) Base Installation

 We add and compact layers of crushed concrete for a strong foundation, followed by a 1” layer of leveling sand. Evenly spread and screed sand layer

4) Material Prep

All pavers and supplies are delivered and organized so everything’s ready for installation.

5) Paver Installation

We lay the pavers using your chosen pattern, aligning them with chalk lines and blending colors for a consistent look. Start from a straight edge and be careful to maintain consistent spacing

6) Cutting & Borders

Custom cuts are made for corners and curves. We also install edge borders for a clean, finished design.

7) Special Features

 If your project includes steps, planter boxes, or other custom elements, we install them during this stage.

8) Edge Restraints

We secure the borders using edge restraints to keep everything in place. Options include plastic, troweled concrete, or footer-style depending on budget and durability needs.

9) Joint Sand & Compaction

Dry sand is swept into joints, then use a plate compactor or another tool  to set pavers in place compacted. For better durability and weed resistance, we recommend polymeric sand to lock-in the pavers.

10) Final Walkthrough 

We inspect the project with you to ensure everything meets expectations and matches the original plan.

11) Cleanup & Seal (Optional) 

We remove all debris and clean the surface. For better color protection and stain resistance, we can apply a protective sealant to shield your pavers from weather and wear.

12) Final Approval

We wrap up the project once you’re 100% satisfied with the final result.

To better maintain your new driveway, patio, walkway or pool surround, we recommend regular maintenance, which includes sweeping, weed control and re-sanding joints as needed.

• Be sure to screed the sand evenly before laying pavers.
• Additional issues to watch for include failing to install edge restraints, which can cause the pavers to spread or lose alignment, and skipping joint sand compaction, which weakens the structural integrity.
